Just in time for lift off. With just two months to bring the vision to life, we embarked on an exhilarating journey to showcase the marvels of this upcoming space exploration milestone, redesigning the universe gallery and all.
Ground control to Major Fun
Divided into three sections, the leftmost section of the Diwata 2 control deck features a mock Ground Receiving Station where visitors may interact with mechanical controls and explore the history of the Philippines Microsatellite Program.
Yes. We have a tricorder too.
Step into the rightmost side of the control deck and you'll find a perfect 1:5 model of the Diwata 2 microsatellite, allowing you to deconstruct and explore each part with the built-in RFID scanner. Hover the scanner over any component, and watch the monitor come alive with fascinating information about its role in this groundbreaking satellite's mission. Discover the wonders of space technology, the cutting-edge imaging and communication systems, and the vital contributions of microsatellites to earth observation and scientific discovery.
Designed for Everyone
The Diwata 2 interactive exhibit was thoughtfully created to engage youths of diverse ages. Our meticulous attention to detail ensured that every mechanical and digital element places the user at the focal point of the experience. We conducted rigorous User Experience testing, encompassing feedback from adults to the youngest school children, to ensure its effectiveness.
Modular Construction
The entire exhibit is divided into three sections, designed to facilitate effortless disassembly for convenient transportation. Utilizing the exceptional fabrication division of The Mind Museum, we constructed the control panel using lightweight composites and robust wooden frames.
Making Science Accessible
Through a collaborative effort with scientists from the Department of Science and Technology and skilled individuals from the University of the Philippines, specifically involved in constructing the microsatellites, we guarantee that all the information presented in the exhibit is both factually accurate and easily comprehensible for people of all age groups.
Sci-fi Theme and Visuals
Incorporating elements ranging from greebles to neon lighting, the captivating visuals of the Diwata 2 interactive exhibit are influenced by beloved science fiction classics like Star Trek, Star Wars, and 2001: A Space Odyssey. This deliberate choice aims to captivate visitors at first glance. The entire panel has been meticulously designed to resemble the controls of a futuristic spaceship, boasting a galactic purple paint finish and illuminated by vibrant purple lights.
